Liz Davey (President)

Liz is a Program Manager in the Office of Environmental Affairs at Tulane University, where she works with students, staff and faculty on programs to make the university more environmentally sustainable. Under her direction, staff and students in her office produced most recent bicycle map of New Orleans. She is a bike commuter and recreational road rider. You may reach Liz at ldavey@tulane.edu.

John Renne (Vice President)

John is an Assistant Professor of Transportation Studies and Urban Planning at the University of New Orleans and Associate Director of the UNO Transportation Center. He specializes in Transportation and Land Use Planning, with a focus on Transit, Bicycling, Walking. His current research includes the National Study on Carless and Special Needs Evacuation Planning and a study of Urban Design and the Safety of Bicyclists and Pedestrians in New Orleans, Funded by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in coordination with the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission. Marco Rosamano (Treasurer)

Marco commutes from Midcity to Uptown most every day on a custom bike built by a friend. He has ridden around the world--Turkey, India, Nepal, Thailand. He is most interested in making Metro New Orleans a more bikable city. You may reach Marco at rosamano@netzero.net

Karen Parsons (Secretary)

Karen is a Senior Transportation Planner at the Regional Planning Commission. She has been the RPC Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator since 1999 and helped found the MBC, acting as an advisor until 2006 when she joined the board. Under her guidance and urging the commission has focused efforts on a more holistic approach to addressing and improving on-street cycling safety. She led an in-depth evaluation of all aspects of existing cycling conditions (education, enforcement, and engineering) in the New Orleans region publishing the New Orleans Metropolitan Bicycle and Pedestrian Bicycle Plan 2005. She instituted a second phase of bicycle safety efforts by establishing a three-year Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program at the RPC in 2005, funded by the Louisiana Department of Highway Safety. That program works to educate planners and engineers on best practices for bicycle and pedestrian facility design, educate law enforcement officers and raise community awareness with thoughtful marketing strategies. Tim Eskew (IT, Media)

Tim is a lifelong New Orleans cyclist. He manages a local bicycle shop. His goal through MBC is to improve infrastructure, provide equal access to cyclists with regard to bridges in and around the city, and raise awareness of the long standing tradition of bicycling in New Orleans as a means of transportation, exercise, and recreation.
